Banana Nut Oatmeal

When you're looking for healthy breakfast recipes that fill you up, oatmeal is the answer. This creamy oatmeal recipe is made richer with bananas and walnuts.

Banana Nut Oatmeal

  • 3 cups skim milk
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 cups Quaker oatmeal (old fashioned, not instant)
  • 1 cup sliced bananas
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Bring first three ingredients to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in oatmeal. Cook 5 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed. Remove from stove. Spoon into serving bowls and top with bananas and walnuts.

Serves 6.

Per serving: 256 calories, 9 g fat, 2 mg cholesterol, 39 g carbohydrate, 4 g fiber, 10 g protein, 1% Vitamin A, 6% Vitamin C, 19% calcium, 12% iron
