Steak and Marinade on the George Foreman Grill

Flatter piece of steak cook up nice on the grill. Thin-cut ribeye or New York cuts work best, but any kind of sirloin can also be used. The flat iron steaks also cook up nice on the grill, if marinated. Look for packages at the grocery store that recommend grilling. Any of the packaged Weber grill mixes work well. Black Peppercorn is a family favorite. For medium steaks, grill about 8 minutes or so, depending on the thickness of the steak.

You can also make your own marinade by mixing several ingredients in a plastic zip-lock bag and then marinating the steak for several hours or overnight. Marinating tenderizes cheaper cuts of meat.

Here are some suggestions:

  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • 1 TBSP soy sauce
  • 1 TBSP brown sugar
  • dash of salt

Be creative--pinches of ginger, cinnamon, garlic and other spices can also be added to taste.

½ cup of prepared steak sauce can also be substituted for the soy sauce and brown sugar.

Cleanup : A handy tip for cleaning the grill is immediately after turning it off, put two wet paper towels inside. The steam will help to loosen the grilled meat and make cleanup much easier.
