Lime jello is combined with Cool Whip in this refreshing jello salad recipe that can be served as a dessert, too.

I like making jello recipes for the holidays, because they're so easy. And this jello dessert recipe is perfect for Christmas because of its cool green color. It also makes a refreshing side dish.

You can substitute sugar free jello and sugar free Cool Whip for an even lighter version of this classic jello salad recipe.

Cool Whip Jello Recipe

  • 3 3 oz.packages lime jello (or sugar-free lime jello)
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 12 oz. frozen limeade concentrate
  • 9 oz. container low-fat Cool Whip (or sugar free Cool Whip)

Pour boiling water into a large mixing bowl. Dissolve Jello in boiling water. Add frozen limeade concentrate and stir until well blended and all of the ice crystals have dissolved. Cool in the refrigerator until thickened, but not set (about 2 to 3 hours).

Remove the Jello mixture from refrigerator and beat in the Cool Whip, a quarter-cup at a time, with a hand or stand mixer on medium speed. When all the Cool Whip has been beaten in, the mixture should be smooth. Pour it into a glass serving bowl and chill in the refrigerator until set, about 4 hours.
