This recipe for tortilla wraps features cream cheese topped with a crunchy mix of carrots, apples, raisins and nuts.

Tortilla wraps are one of the most versatile, quick and easy recipes you can make. Indeed, these cream cheese wraps belong in every parent's stable of go-to recipes.

These wraps are not only full of fruits and vegetables, but the kids just love them. Even better: It takes only a few minutes to prepare these tortilla wraps.

The walnuts add a bit of fat to this recipe, so you may be tempted to leave them out. Don't. It is the heart-healthy kind of mono-unsaturated fat that actually lowers bad cholesterol. And remember, kids need about 30 to 35 percent of their calories from fat.

Wraps for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

These sandwich wraps are just loaded with fiber, protein, vitamin A and calcium, making them an excellent and satisfying meal just about any time of the day.

Serve these tortilla wraps for a quick breakfast or a healthy snack with a glass of cold milk. Pack them in the kids' lunch boxes. Or even make them for dinner on those nights when you're running late or the kids have a ton of activities.

Try to use all-natural whole wheat tortillas for this recipe, if you can find them. (Check Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or your local health food store.) Some of the more popular name-brand tortillas, such as Mission, have trans fats, so read the label carefully before you buy them.
