Chili is a delicious comfort food that everyone loves to enjoy. This recipe makes it easy to make a healthy chili with barely any effort using a crockpot.

Chili is a classic dish that is filling and delicious, and fortunately it is also very simple to make. With a few cupboard staples, this chili can be thrown together in about 15 minutes. Chili is one of those foods that can be made a variety of ways. Everyone has their own twist on the classic recipe.

This recipe features delicious and healthy ingredients that take a traditionally high fat, high calorie dish and make it guilt-free! Lean ground turkey is a heart healthy alternative to beef. It has the same consistency and a delicious taste that can please any picky eater. The recipe is full of tomatoes which are a great source of lycopene and other vital nutrients. The corn in this recipe adds a little bit of sweetness and a satisfying texture. This chili is surprisingly easy to make because crockpots and slow cookers save valuable time and energy. Anyone can make this easy chili recipe that is sure to be a hit with the whole family!

Ingredients Needed for Low-Fat Chili:

  • 1 pound of lean ground turkey
  • 2 cans of diced tomatoes, Italian style
  • 2 cans of kidney beans
  • 2 cups of tomato sauce
  • 1 package of chili seasoning mix
  • 2 cups of corn (fresh, frozen, or canned is fine)
  • If needed, extra chili seasoning mix or chili powder can be added to taste.

Chili Cooking Instructions:

Cooking this chili is extremely easy!

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet and then drain the grease.
  2. Put the ground beef into the crockpot or slow cooker.
  3. Next drain the beans, rinse them, and put them in the crockpot.
  4. All of the other ingredients can then be added into the crockpot.
  5. Mix all the ingredients together.
  6. Then turn the crockpot on Low and cook for 4 to 6 hours. The chili can also be cooked on High for 2 to 4 hours.

Many Ways to Serve Chili

Once the chili is made it can be served in a variety of ways. Eat it plain, or topped with cheese or sour cream. Use it as a topping for nachos or a baked potato, even a hot dog. Chili can be a great dish to bring to parties or social gatherings, and it is often easy to bring along the whole crockpot and plug it in to serve the chili hot and fresh.

This chili recipe makes eight 1 cup servings. Each serving has approximately 300 calories, 21 grams of protein, and only 7 grams of fat.
