From breakfast banana splits to savory zucchini tarts, these recipes are tasty treats no matter when you serve them.


Every cook should have a stable of "anytime" recipes -- those that are just as satisfying for breakfast as they are for a late afternoon snack or dinner. Here are some of my favorites:

  • Savory Zucchini Tart -- A terrific way to use that bumper crop of zucchini -- delicious any time of the day.
  • Breakfast Banana Splits -- With 9 grams of fiber and 13 grams of protein per serving, these hearty sundaes are healthy enough to serve as a meal.
  • Breakfast Casserole -- Loaded with vitamins, minerals and protein, this strata is a great make-ahead dish to serve for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
  • Spinach Quiche -- Even avowed spinach-haters will like this one.
  • Cream Cheese Wraps -- A delicious way to enjoy fruits and vegetables any time of day.
  • Carrot Cake Smoothies -- They taste just like the real thing, yet they're healthy enough to be served at a meal.
