Have your whole foods and eat sweets too

If the idea of healthy chocolate and dessert recipes makes you think of fake sugar or conjuring up bad-tasting substitutions, you're in for a treat.

The new Big Bear Brownie Mix from Kodiak Cakes is everything a healthy brownie mix should be. All natural. Whole foods. No preservatives. And lots of chocolate.

As Rachel Ray would say, "Yummo!"

And while I wouldn't say the Kodiak Cakes brownie mix is low calorie, there are things you can do to lower the calorie content of the finished product.

For example, for my Double Chocolate Coconut Brownies, I use flaxseed meal with the mix instead of butter or oil.

You can also add fruit purees instead of oil. Stay tuned for more recipes.
